by Dirty Protest
Live theatre is a ritual that we can’t enact or take part in right now. The few rituals we have each day now include exercise, washing up, cooking and cleaning. With this in mind, Dirty Protest commissioned three early career writers from across Wales to create Ritual, three audio plays you could listen to on the move as part of your daily routine.
Soaring 1999. Two strangers from opposite sides of Wales are brought together through cassette conversations.
Double Drop 1995. The rites and ceremonies of the Eisteddfod collide with the communion and transcendence of a rave.
Unbound The end of the world. Two women bury birds.
These three plays chart extraordinary times; some past, some yet to happen. Together the plays reflect the changes and shifts in our lives, and celebrate the connections we make with other people. However you decide to listen to these plays, they promise to take you somewhere extraordinary during what would normally be a mundane, daily routine
